How we review medical alert systems
We research and compare medical alert plans using each company's published pricing, features, and terms, and we update our pages when those change.
What we look at
For each system we cover, we check the company's own published information on:
- Cost: monthly plan prices, equipment or device fees, activation and shipping fees, and add-on costs.
- Where it works: in-home systems, on-the-go devices with GPS, and whether a home landline or cellular service is needed.
- Fall detection: whether it's offered, how it's priced, and what the company says about its limits.
- Monitoring: what the company says about who answers when the button is pressed.
- Contracts and cancellation: commitment length, cancellation rules, and refund terms.
- Practical details: battery life, charging, and caregiver features where the company publishes them.
What we don't do
We don't claim to have tested these devices hands-on, and we don't publish star ratings or customer review counts of our own. If a detail isn't published or we couldn't confirm it, we leave it out rather than guess.
Keeping it current
Medical alert companies change their prices and plans often. We recheck the companies we cover and update our pages when their published details change. Before you buy, confirm the current price and terms on the company's own site.
How the quiz matches you
Our quiz asks about who the system is for, where it will be used, whether there's a home landline, how important fall detection is, and your budget. We compare your answers with each company's published features, such as in-home systems, GPS devices, and landline support, and rank the systems on how well they fit. Until we add current prices, results don't rank on budget. The results page explains why each system was shown.
